We’re starting up a new series here over at JTS and you’re gonna like it. We’ve been working with, hanging with, occasionally giving platonic backrubs to, etc. some insanely talented producers, beatsmiths, and musicians and we figured it’s only logical to start featuring some of their unreleased work. Every Friday, for as much of the rest of the year as we feel like it (assuming we don’t end up just sleeping in and forgetting), we’ll be hosting some unreleased tracks of the best unheard and underrepresented musical talent we come across and subsequently kidnap and bring to JTS headquarters.

Kicking us off is a member of the Chicago beat-collective Push Beats and one of Shardstyle’s favorite Chicagoans, Raj Mahal, with an unreleased track called No Matter.

Raj Mahal prides himself on his vast experiences that can’t stand in isolation of his music. Spawning from the roots of Detroit’s hip hop and soul scenes, he brings hypnotic, emotive and cathartic movements that make listeners curious on how far they can go into experimental realms. Eyes and ears usually widen some as a pleasing natural trepidation begins to ensue. From his Dj-ing experiences and love of the unspoken movements that bridge people together from music, Raj hones in on these characteristics in his production. His artistic integrity treads through sound-scapes of  wonderment binding the aesthetic of urban decay and passion that Detroit fruitions.
